The Grand Mafia Beginner Guide: Turf, Resources and Build Order
This beginner guide covers the five turf resources in The Grand Mafia, the buildings that make them, the Mansion level rule, and a clear upgrade order for your first weeks. It is for new players with a low-level Mansion who are unsure what to build next.
The Mansion is the ceiling for your turf
The Mansion is the centre of your turf. Its level controls what every other building can do. No building can hold a level higher than the Mansion. If your Mansion is at a low level, every Bank, Gunsmith, Warehouse, Smelter, Diamond Lab, and support building shares that ceiling.
The Mansion level also decides which buildings unlock at all. This makes the next Mansion level the starting point for each upgrade plan. Read its listed prerequisites, complete those requirements, then check whether your resource income can support the next round of construction, training, and upgrades.
Do not treat the Mansion as the only building that matters. Raising the ceiling without improving the resource buildings below it leaves you with more options but too little income to use them. The Mansion sets the limit, while your resource buildings fund the work.
The five resources and the buildings that make them
Your turf has five resources. Cash, arms, cargo, and metal matter first. Diamonds become more useful later. New players should learn which building makes each resource before deciding what to upgrade.
| Resource | Building | What it pays for |
|---|---|---|
| Cash | Bank | Nearly every action, including construction, training, and upgrades |
| Arms | Gunsmith | Training and equipping associates |
| Cargo | Warehouse | The Warehouse also carries storage capacity |
| Metal | Smelter | Construction and higher training tiers |
| Diamonds | Diamond Lab | Training speed |
Cash is the broadest resource because it pays for nearly every action. Arms support associate training and equipment. Cargo comes from the Warehouse, which also carries storage capacity. Metal supports construction and the higher training tiers. Diamonds feed training speed, but they should not pull attention away from the first four resources during the early build.
When early income is still small, check the current The Grand Mafia redeem codes for free resources that can help a new turf.
📋 Keep your resource buildings working while you prepare the next Mansion step. The Grand Mafia bot runs the daily farming and routine upkeep of a turf on a Windows PC. See the premium option.
What the other turf buildings do
Resource buildings fund growth, while the other buildings handle research, training, healing, warnings, and defence.
- Investment Center: This is the research building. Invest here to unlock associates and buffs. Take paths that unlock higher associate tiers before spending time on economy side branches.
- Training Center: You need this building to train associates at all.
- Hospital: The Hospital heals associates wounded in battle.
- Radar: The Radar warns you about enemy crews heading for your turf and shows incoming raids. It also reports friendly crews stationed with you or on their way.
- Wall: The Wall is the first line of defence for your turf.
The first-weeks upgrade order
Use this order whenever several upgrade buttons compete for your attention.
- Join a faction first. Do this before any other activity that earns points. Make it your first setup step, not something you leave until after several upgrades.
- Build the next Mansion prerequisite. Check what the next Mansion level lists, then meet that requirement. The Mansion controls both building levels and building unlocks, so its prerequisites define the immediate path.
- Upgrade resource buildings. Put Banks, Gunsmiths, Warehouses, and Smelters ahead of optional side work. These produce the four resources that matter first and fund what follows. Keep Diamond Labs in the plan, but give diamonds more attention later.
- Upgrade the Investment Center. Once the next prerequisite and resource base are in place, work on research. Follow paths that unlock higher associate tiers before the economy side branches.
Then repeat the same check for the next Mansion step. Read the prerequisite, compare it with your current buildings, strengthen resource income, and return to the Investment Center. This gives every upgrade a clear reason.
The mistake to avoid: pushing the Mansion ahead of income
The most common bad habit is upgrading the Mansion whenever its button becomes available while leaving resource buildings behind. The Mansion raises the ceiling, but it does not replace the Cash, arms, cargo, and metal needed for later work.
Before each Mansion upgrade, look at the resource base beneath it. If Banks, Gunsmiths, Warehouses, and Smelters are lagging, bring them forward. A lower Mansion backed by useful income gives you a sound base for the next step. A higher Mansion with weak income can leave construction, training, and upgrades competing for resources you do not have.
The Grand Mafia turf FAQ
What should I upgrade first on a new turf?
Join a faction before doing anything else that earns points. After that, complete the prerequisite listed for the next Mansion level, improve resource buildings, then work on the Investment Center.
Can another building go above my Mansion level?
No. The Mansion is the level ceiling for every other building. Its level also decides which buildings can unlock.
Which resources matter most at the start?
Focus first on Cash, arms, cargo, and metal. They come from the Bank, Gunsmith, Warehouse, and Smelter. Diamonds come later.
What should I research in the Investment Center?
Take the paths that unlock higher associate tiers before the economy side branches. The Investment Center is also where you unlock buffs.
Why should I keep upgrading resource buildings?
They fund everything that follows. Cash pays for nearly every action, while arms, cargo, and metal support key parts of turf growth. Do not push the Mansion ahead of that income.
