Tiles Survive Tier List: Where Four Hero Rankings Agree
This tier list ranks the named Tiles Survive heroes by how safely you can spend shards and upgrade materials on them. It uses four lists read on 16 August 2026: pocketgamer.com, dated 7 August 2026 for game version 2.5.800; packsify.com, dated 3 June 2026; topuplive.com, dated 7 July 2026; and gamestouse.com, dated August 2026. They agree at the top but split hard below it, so the agreed ranking and the contested heroes stay separate.
The agreed Tiles Survive hero ranking
Rosie, Layla and Tarzan have the clearest result: all four lists place them in S tier. Nikola has support from three lists, while the fourth does not rank him. Tara has the strongest floor below S, with three A ratings and one S rating.
| Hero | Tier | Agreement |
|---|---|---|
| Rosie | S | 4 of 4 |
| Layla | S | 4 of 4 |
| Tarzan | S | 4 of 4 |
| Nikola | S | 3 of 4, one does not rank him |
| Tara | A | 4 of 4 rate her A or higher |
The rows within a tier are not a hidden order. The four sources do not give enough shared evidence to rank Rosie, Layla and Tarzan against each other. The safe claim is that all three belong in S tier.
S tier: Rosie, Layla, Tarzan and Nikola
Rosie, Layla and Tarzan are the safest shard targets on this board. Pocketgamer.com, packsify.com, topuplive.com and gamestouse.com all rate each one S. That four-list agreement matters more than a forced first, second and third place that the sources do not support.
If you own more than one of the three, this comparison does not supply a sound tie-breaker. It would be false precision to claim that one deserves every shard before the others. Treat them as the unanimous S tier and spend within that group based on what you already have, rather than turning the table order into a ranking.
Nikola sits one step behind them in certainty, but not in the printed tier. Three of the four lists rate him S. The fourth does not place him in a lower tier, it does not rank him at all. That missing rating is why Nikola has a 3 of 4 agreement score instead of joining the unanimous group.

Tara sets the safe A tier
Tara is the only hero in the ranked A tier because every source gives her an A-tier floor. Pocketgamer.com, topuplive.com and gamestouse.com rate her A. Packsify.com goes higher and rates her S. No list puts her below A.
That makes Tara safer than the heroes whose ratings swing between A and B, lower, or filler. Printing Tara as A respects the three-list majority without hiding the more generous S rating. If you have no S-tier hero ready for investment, Tara is the clearest supported option below them.
Contested heroes: the lists do not agree
Ray, Sarge, Travis, Maddie and Freja do not belong in the agreed ranking. Each receives a strong rating from at least one source, but the lower ratings are too far apart to hide. Ghost is simpler: both lists that rank him place him in B.
| Hero | Highest rating seen | Lowest rating seen |
|---|---|---|
| Ray | A | B or filler |
| Sarge | A | B or filler |
| Travis | A | B or filler |
| Maddie | A | B or lower |
| Freja | S | Filler |
| Ghost | B | B |
Ray, Sarge and Travis are A tier on pocketgamer.com and gamestouse.com, but packsify.com and topuplive.com treat them as B tier or filler. That is a clear split between two favorable lists and two much cooler lists. Calling any of the three a safe A-tier spend would conceal half the evidence.
Maddie has an even two against two split. Pocketgamer.com and packsify.com rate her A, while topuplive.com and gamestouse.com place her in B or lower. There is no honest tie-breaker in those results, so Maddie stays contested.
Freja has the widest split on the board. Pocketgamer.com rates her S and gamestouse.com rates her A, while packsify.com and topuplive.com treat her as filler. A single confident tier would erase that gap. Ghost has less upside in the published ratings but much less confusion: he is B on both lists that include him. He is playable and not a mistake, but he is not an investment target.
The four Guardians and one Gunner formation
Packsify.com and topuplive.com agree on the competitive formation: four Guardians and one Gunner. They also agree on the exact front and back lines.
- Front: Nikola and Layla.
- Back: Tarzan, Tara and Rosie.
This formation fits the ranked group without inventing a new order inside the tiers. Four of its five heroes are in S, and Tara is A at worst across all four lists. The formation agreement comes from two sources, so keep that support count distinct from the four-source tier agreement.
What to do with shards if you have no S-tier hero
Do not force a large spend into a contested hero just because one list gives that hero an A or S rating. The shortest safe plan is to protect your main stock of shards and materials for the heroes with broad support.
- Use Tara as the supported A-tier spend if you already have her. Three lists rate her A and one rates her S.
- Ghost is a playable B-tier hero, but stop short of treating him as a long-term investment.
- Keep Ray, Sarge, Travis, Maddie and Freja in the contested group. Their ratings do not support a safe upgrade order.
- Do not spend on Lucky or Rusty. Both sit at the bottom of every list.
- Save the biggest commitment for Rosie, Layla, Tarzan or Nikola, with the stronger four-list agreement belonging to the first three.

Tiles Survive hero tier list FAQ
Which Tiles Survive heroes are unanimously S tier?
Rosie, Layla and Tarzan. All four dated lists place all three in S tier. The evidence does not support ranking one above the other two.
Does Nikola belong in S tier?
Three of the four lists say yes. The fourth list does not rank Nikola at all, so his S-tier placement has strong support but not unanimous support.
Why is Tara listed as A instead of S?
Three lists rate Tara A and packsify.com rates her S. A is the shared floor and the majority rating. No source places her below A.
Are Maddie and Freja safe shard investments?
The four lists do not give a shared answer. Maddie has an even two against two split between A and B or lower. Freja ranges from S to filler, the widest rating gap on the board. Both remain contested.
Should I use Ghost, Lucky or Rusty?
Ghost is playable and receives B on both lists that rank him, but he is not an investment target. Lucky and Rusty are at the bottom of every list, so do not spend shards or upgrade materials on them.
